Mountain Guides – To the get the most from your mountain experience (and to keep your insurance valid!) contact Hans Solmssen on hans@verbier.ch. Hans is an American (so his English is quite good!) who has lived in Verbier for 20-odd years and was the first non-Swiss person to qualify in Switzerland as a UIAGM Mountain Guide.

Contact Hans if you are interested in off-piste skiing or snowboarding, ski-mountaineering, heliskiing, ice-climbing, mountaineering, rock climbing, sailing (he even has a yacht on Lake Geneva) or just a good guide to show you the best of the Alps. Visit Hans’ web-site at www.swissguides.com.

And thanks to Hans for many of the photos you see on this site – he’s quite handy with a camera too, as you can see!
